Kings, Dwight King agree on three-year deal

The Kings have reached agreement on a three-year contract with restricted free agent left wing Dwight King, avoiding an arbitration hearing that had been scheduled to take place in Toronto on Friday.

General Manager Dean Lombardi told The Times via email that the new agreement was finished Tuesday night. The agreement was first reported by Hockey Night in Canada’s Elliotte Friedman.

King, 25, had 15 goals and 30 points in 77 regular-season games last season and earned $750,000. King added three goals and 11 points in 26 playoff games as he and the Kings won their second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons. He was chosen by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2007 entry draft.
