The Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League announced Sunday that forward Alex Bourret has been assigned back to Wichita by the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey league.

Bourret returns to Wichita after missing the last seven games. Before he left, Bourret was Wichita's leading scorer with 39 points (13g, 26a). The seven-year pro was named to the 2012 CHL All-Star team, but was unable to play in the game due to his call-up to Worcester.

During his time in Worcester, he had three points in six games, including a two-point outing against Portland on January 8th. Bourret had spent time in the AHL with Chicago, Hartford and San Antonio, scoring 97 points in 170 games before this previous stint.

In other news, The Central Hockey League announced the suspension of R. G. Flath for two (2) games as a consequence for an ‘illegal check to the head’ in the Thunder’s game on January 21 in Texas. He will miss tonight's game against Texas and Wednesday's game against Arizona.

The rubber match between Wichita and Texas on the weekend is this afternoon at 5:05 p.m.
