Dustin Pedroia is put on DL by the Red Sox
Second baseman Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox returned to the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of a strained right hamstring.
Pedroia originally was injured while rounding first base after a go-ahead single against Baltimore on June 24 and sat out 16 games.
Pedroia is one for 22 in his last six games. The 2008 American League most valuable player is hitting .287 with nine home runs and 34 runs batted in.
