The New York Mets acquired second baseman Neil Walker from the Pittsburgh Pirates for left-hander Jonathon Niese.

Walker, 30, can become a free agent after this season. He batted .269 with 16 home runs and 71 runs batted in RBIs last season for the Pirates, his hometown team.

Niese, 29, was 9-10 with a 4.13 earned-run average last season.

Mariners acquire Adam Lind from Brewers, Evan Scribner from A’s

The Seattle Mariners acquired first baseman Adam Lind from the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league pitchers

Daniel Missaki, Carlos Herrera and Freddy Peralta.

The Mariners also got reliever Evan Scribner from the Oakland Athletics for minor league pitcher Trey Cochran-Gill.

The Mariners had been looking for a first baseman because General Manager Jerry Dipoto traded Mark Trumbo to Baltimore and Logan Morrison to Tampa Bay.

Milwaukee picked up last month the $8-million option for 2016 on Lind’s contract. Lind, 32, batted .277 with 20 home runs and 87 RBIs in his only season with the Brewers. He is a .274 hitter in 10 big league seasons with 166 home runs and 606 RBIs for Toronto (2006-14) and Milwaukee.

Scribner, 30, appeared in a career-high 54 games last season.

David Hernandez and Phillies agree to deal

Right-hander David Hernandez and the Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a $3.9-million, one-year contract.

Hernandez, 30, was 1-5 with a 4.28 ERA in 40 relief appearances for Arizona this year. He returned to the major leagues in June after elbow ligament-replacement surgery in April 2014.

Hernandez is 25-35 with 19 saves and a 4.15 ERA in 309 games over six major league seasons with the Baltimore Orioles (2009-10) and the Diamondbacks (2011-15).

Tigers get Justin Wilson in trade with Yankees

The Detroit Tigers acquired left-handed reliever Justin Wilson from the New York Yankees for minor league right-handers Luis Cessa and Chad Green.

Wilson, 28, was 5-0 with a 3.10 ERA in 74 appearances this year.

Before joining the Yankees, Wilson pitched three seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
