Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan has a lot to take in

At times, there simply can be too many voices vying for attention, too many (verbal) points being made in the paint.

Translation: Too much information for DeAndre Jordan.

Chris Kaman was talking about his Clipper colleague, the big-man-in-training, Jordan, who had 10 points and 15 rebounds in their 107-104 victory over the Warriors on Saturday night.

“He’s got pretty solid hands and he’s aggressive. The thing I really like is his heart,” Kaman said. “He’s just a good guy. That’s gonna help him in the long run. He has a lot of people in his ear — everybody is talking to him and I can see how he gets frustrated and he’s just got to learn to deal with it.”

Kaman knows about too much thinking, rather than acting on pure instinct.

“I think he over-thinks it a little bit,” he said. “He definitely has to be a sponge to try to soak it all up as much as you can. There’s a lot of people talking to him, a lot of people are looking out for his best interests.

“No one is trying to hurt him — he has to realize that. He definitely has a bright future and needs to continue to work hard.”

That includes Free-Throw Shooting 101. Jordan is shooting 36.8% from the free-throw line this season, including a host of cringe-worthy attempts, of late.

“I want to be more of a threat at the offensive end, more like in the post and obviously my free-throw shooting,” Jordan said. “Those are the two main things I’m going to work on this summer.”

Losing Streak?

Kaman didn’t know that the Clippers had been in such a prolonged spiral before the Warriors’ game.

“I didn’t realize we were on a seven-game losing streak,” said Kaman, who had 27 points and 10 rebounds against Golden State. “You just try to go out there and play and try not to think about it. I hadn’t realized it, to be honest with you. I just know the end of the season is coming soon, and I want to finish strong and get the season over with.”

Injury update

There is a substantial list of walking wounded for the second-to-last Clippers’ game of the season tonight against Dallas, which also happens to be Fan Appreciation Night.

(The Clippers said about 2,400 tickets are remaining.)

Drew Gooden (sore right knee) is doubtful. Travis Outlaw (strained right going) and Craig Smith (sore lower back) are probable and Baron Davis (sprained right wrist) will not play. Eric Gordon, who missed Saturday’s game because of a viral infection, is being called questionable.
