The Dodgers did not make a significant move as baseball’s July trade deadline passed Friday at 1 p.m.

After completing a three-team, 13-player trade on Thursday, the Dodgers made one minor trade Friday. They sent first baseman-outfielder Mike Morse, whom they had designated for assignment Thursday, to the Pittsburgh Pirates for outfielder Jose Tabata.

Tabata had been designated for assignment by the Pirates, then sent to the minor leagues. He is expected to report to triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers had assumed about $14 million on Morse’s contract to get pitcher Mat Latos from the Miami Marlins. By trading Morse to the Pirates — and sending cash in the deal — the Dodgers were able to keep Morse off the free-agent market for now.

Morse helped the San Francisco Giants win the World Series last year. The Dodgers lead the Giants by one-half game in the National League West.

Tabata, 26, was a highly touted prospect from the days the New York Yankees signed him a decade ago, but he never developed into a star. His at-bats had declined in each of his six seasons with the Pirates.

He batted .289 with no extra-base hits in 41 at-bats with the Pirates this season. He also batted .291 with no home runs in 148 at-bats at triple-A Indianapolis.
