The Dodgers haven’t had trouble beating the likes of division rivals Colorado and San Francisco when they had to. Beating baseball’s minions has been another matter. The Dodgers dropped a game in Washington last week and almost dropped a second. They lost the opening game of a four-game series in Pittsburgh on Friday. They had a chance to clinch the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="15007002" title="National League" href="/topic/sports/baseball/national-league-15007002.topic">National League</a> West title on Sunday, only for Broxton to blow a three-run lead in what turned out to be a walk-off loss to the dreadful Pirates.
