Hiroki Kuroda gets hit in the head with a line drive. A strained side muscle cost Kuroda at the start of the season. His next stint on the disabled list was considerably scarier. With the Dodgers up on the Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-0, on Aug. 15, Kuroda took a line drive by Rusty Ryal off his head. Kuroda later said that his wife, who was watching the game on television, thought he was dead. "I always thought I wouldnt mind dying on a baseball field," Kuroda said. "But as I was being carried away, I thought, 'I dont want to die.' I thought that there would be nothing sadder than for me to die in my uniform, without my family there to see me off."
