Watch Dodgers thank fans in video

Share

For your viewing pleasure.

The Dodgers are feeling rather thankful these days, which is sort of understandable for a team that led baseball in attendance and came within two victories of the National League pennant.

Still, you have to at least acknowledge the effort. First the Dodgers took out full-age ads in The Times and other major local newspapers, and now they’ve put together a nearly 10-minute video to thank their fans.

It’s introduced by -- who else? -- the inestimable Vin Scully, as he summarizes the 2013 season, including that quote from famous Los Angeles Times contributor A.J. Ellis: “It’s fun to be a Dodger again.”

Then the video does a nice job of interspersing brief comments from players with season highlights, some you may have forgotten.

It’s a nice little production, and it’s possible they may have held off on releasing it for a couple of days. The final Dodger to speak in the video is Manager Don Mattingly, as in past and future manager.
