Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (4-0) advanced to the championship game of the Easton tournament with a 4-2 victory over Westlake on Saturday.

Carter Kessinger threw a complete game, striking out seven while scattering nine hits. Noah Taylor had two hits and two RBIs. Jack Johnson went three for three.

Notre Dame will play the winner of Monday’s Calabasas-Camarillo game for the championship.

Defending Division 1 champion El Toro is 3-0 after a 1-0 win over La Mirada. Erik Tolman threw six shutout innings.

Ayala stayed unbeaten with a 6-3 win over Bishop Amat. Daniel Mendez had two RBI.

Corona defeated Corona del Mar 3-2. Freshman Danny Perez got the save with a scoreless seventh. Sophomore Michael Flores had a two-run triple.

Roosevelt defeated Capistrano Valley 2-1 on a walk-off single by Jacob Martinez.

Justin Boldt and Nick Lopez hit home runs in Huntington Beach’s 4-3 win over Riverside Poly.

Irvine University improved to 4-0 with a 5-4 win over Buena Park. Tyler Lu struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings. Tristan Lucas had two hits.

Paraclete improved to 4-0 with a 5-4 win over Buena.

Dylan Silver hit a grand slam and Sammy Diaz had four RBIs in Palm Desert’s 11-3 win over Beckman.

Fountain Valley defeated El Dorado 3-0. And Fountain Valley defeated Servite 7-6. Jake Brooks and Sebastian Murillo each had two RBIs against Servite.

Aliso Niguel defeated Sonora 13-0. Connor Knox had two hits and four RBI.

San Clemente defeated Lakewood 3-1. Michael McGreevy threw a one-hitter. Jimmy Cusey had a two-run double.

One day again, someone will score an official goal against Santa Barbara goalie Ben Roach. It just hasn’t happened for a while.

On Saturday in the Southern Section Division 1 championship soccer game, Cathedral became the latest to fail to get a ball past Roach — through regulation and two overtimes. Then Santa Barbara won on penalty kicks 3-2.

In the semifinals, Loyola also couldn’t score off Roach before losing 1-0 in the second overtime.
