The Sharks took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series Wednesday night, beating the Kings, 3-2, at the SAP Center.

Here are three keys from the Sharks win over the Kings:

1. Sharks power play: San Jose adjusted after going 0 for 5 on the power play in Game 3. The Sharks were a force on the power play. They scored on its their first two opportunities chances in Game 4 and had three power-play goals in all.

2. Kings’ failure to convert: The Kings had an ideal chance to get back in it early in the second period. Trailing, 1-0, they had back-to-back power plays but couldn’t get one past Sharks goalie Martin Jones.
