3. Ron Artest vs. Boston Celtics, Game 7 NBA Finals, June 17, 2010.( Mark J. Terrill, Associated Press / June 17, 2010 )
The setting: The latest chapter in the NBAÂ’s greatest rivalry came down to the closing minutes at Staples Center. With the Lakers leading 76-73, Artest took a pass from Kobe Bryant and, with the shot clock running down, made a three-point shot with 1:01 left.
The significance: Artest, who scored 20 points, had struggled with his three-point shooting for most of the playoffs. While the Celtics got as close as two points, they never had the ball with a chance to tie after the stunning shot by Artest, who blew a kiss to the crowd after the basket. The Lakers won, 83-79, for their first Game 7 victory over the Celtics. |
