The setting: With the score tied, Goodrich hit a 15-foot jump shot at Milwaukee to give the Lakers a 99-97 lead with 1:33 remaining.
The significance: On GoodrichÂ’s shot, Happy Hairston was fouled and made a free throw to give the Lakers a three-point lead. They went on to win, 104-100, clinching the series over the defending NBA champions. The Lakers then beat the New York Knicks in five games for their first championship in Los Angeles. |
