Starters sit as Pacers take back top spot in East

Chris Copeland’s driving layup with 1.2 seconds remaining gave the Indiana Pacers a 104-102 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night that moved them back into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Luis Scola scored a season-high 24 points and Evan Turner added 23 for Indiana, which benched all of its usual starters for the entire game. Coach Frank Vogel made the move after the Pacers were held to a franchise-low 23 points in the first half against Atlanta on Sunday.

at Memphis 107, Miami 102: Zach Randolph had 25 points and 11 rebounds, Marc Gasol added 20 points and 14 rebounds and the Grizzlies kept their playoff hopes alive. LeBron James led the Heat with 37 points.

at Toronto 125, Philadelphia 114: Jonas Valanciunas had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Raptors, less than three days after he was charged with drunk driving.

Charlotte 94, at Washington 88 (OT): Kemba Walker made the only field goal for either team in overtime, and the Bobcats won their fifth consecutive game and moved into position for the No.6 seed in the East.

at Atlanta 105, Boston 97: Jeff Teague scored 19 points, Kyle Korver added 17 and the Hawks increased their lead to two games over New York for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East with four games remaining.

at Cleveland 122, Detroit 100: Dion Waiters scored 22 points as the Cavaliers, their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, routed the Pistons. Cleveland still trails Atlanta by 31/2 games for the eighth spot in the East.

Chicago 102, at Minnesota 87: D.J. Augustin scored 21 points and Joakim Noah (15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists) posted his fourth triple-double of the season, tying Indiana’s Lance Stephenson for the most in the NBA.

Phoenix 94, at New Orleans 88: Gerald Green scored 21 points, and the Suns, clinging to the last playoff spot in the West, won their third game in a row.

at Denver 123, Houston 116: Randy Foye scored 24 of his 30 points in the second half for the Nuggets. Dwight Howard did not play for the 10th time in 12 games.

at Portland 100, Sacramento 99: Dorell Wright made a three-point shot with 7.9 seconds left. It was his only basket.

at Orlando 115, Brooklyn 111: Arron Afflalo scored 25 points and Magic held off a late rally to end the Nets’ three-game winning streak.
