Wearing it out?

Clippers center Ryan Hollins, on the NBA marketing sleeved jerseys in an effort to broaden their appeal to fans who don’t like traditional jerseys: “You don’t really go to a party with a jersey anymore. Back then, it was the thing to do if you’re ‘that guy.’ ‘That guy’ means like you [say], ‘Look at that guy with the jersey.’ You don’t want to be that guy.”

Golden State Warriors Coach Mark Jackson, on the idea that his future with the team hinges on winning in the playoffs: “You can’t pay attention to that. You do your job and you be the best that you can possibly be, and you try to impact lives. Don’t get caught up in the other stuff. There’s nothing you can do to control any of that, so there’s no sense losing a second entertaining ‘what if?’ Why not ‘what if we win it all?’ I’m not wasting time on that neither.”

Everything except wins

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio, on Kevin Love’s future with the team: “I think he will stay here because they’ve given everything to him and it’s hard to leave when you have so much support.”

Show him the money

Miami Heat forward LeBron James, on whether getting a contract like the one that will guarantee Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera $292 million over the next 10 years would influence his decision whether to opt out of his contract this summer: “I would do it this summer, for sure. I’d opt out for that.”
