New details in stalker case

The man who stalked ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and shot nude videos of her through a hotel room peephole videotaped 16 other women and ran background checks on 30 people, including female sports reporters and TV personalities, according to court documents.

A sentencing memo filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles says Michael Barrett uploaded videos of 16 other women to an online account.

Barrett also allegedly conducted 30 Internet background checks that can produce birthdays and home addresses, the document said. The filing did not name the other alleged victims or say what information he obtained or how he may have used it.

Barrett has pleaded guilty to interstate stalking and agreed to a 27-month prison sentence.

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson won’t face criminal charges over allegations that he beat a girlfriend who was nine months’ pregnant with the couple’s child at his Las Vegas home last year, a police spokeswoman said.

Investigators found insufficient evidence that Jackson, 26, attacked Supriya Harris of Mableton, Ga., in March 2009, Las Vegas police Officer Barbara Morgan said.

The family of Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan insisted that it does “not blame anyone” for her father’s death and criticized a medical examiner’s finding that Daniel Kerrigan died of a heart rhythm problem after a fight with his son.

Daniel Kerrigan’s death was ruled a homicide by a Massachusetts medical examiner.

The findings could prompt new charges against Nancy Kerrigan’s brother, Mark, 45, who has pleaded not guilty to assault and battery on an elderly person and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

Djokovic moves on at Rotterdam

Top-seeded Novak Djokovic had a winning return to the court when he advanced to the second round of the ABN Amro at Rotterdam, Netherlands, as Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine retired because of a leg injury.

Djokovic was leading, 6-2, 4-1, at the time.

The Serb was making his first tour appearance since losing in the Australian Open quarterfinals.

He’ll next face Switzerland’s Marco Chiudinelli, who beat 2008 Rotterdam champion Michael Llodra of France, 6-1, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (6).

Germany’s Bjorn Phau beat eighth-seeded Jeremy Chardy of France, 6-3, 6-1, in the first round of the SAP Open at San Jose.

Teenager Ricardas Berankis, the former No. 1 junior in the world, beat American Robby Ginepri, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-3, in another first-round match.

Orioles sign Hendrickson

Left-hander Mark Hendrickson, 35, agreed to a one-year contract with the Baltimore Orioles that guarantees him $1.4 million after pitching well out of Baltimore’s bullpen last season.

The Sparks signed WNBA veteran Ticha Penicheiro, who helped lead the Sacramento Monarchs to the championship in 2005.

Penicheiro had spent her entire 12-year career with the rival Monarchs, where she averaged 6.4 points.
