Pirates win fourth in a row

Yoslan Herrera gets his first major league win, and the Pirates get consecutive homers from Jason Bay and Xavier Nady in 9-1 rout of Padres.

* at Pittsburgh 9, San Diego 1: Yoslan Herrera pitched six shutout innings for his first major league win, and the Pirates got consecutive homers from Jason Bay and Xavier Nady. Nate McLouth also homered and had three RBIs for the Pirates, who have won four straight.

* at San Francisco 1, Washington 0: Matt Cain pitched a four-hitter, Dave Roberts singled home a run in the eighth inning and the Giants earned their first three-game home sweep of the season.



* Milwaukee 4, at St. Louis 3: Ryan Braun had four hits for a second straight game, including a two-run homer in the ninth. The Brewers, who have won eight in a row, rallied from a 3-1 deficit to sweep a series in St. Louis for the first time since 1999.

* at Chicago 6, Florida 3: Carlos Zambrano pitched seven solid innings and the Cubs got home runs from Henry Blanco and Ronny Cedeno and a two-run double from Aramis Ramirez to improve to 38-12 at home.

* at New York 3, Philadelphia 1: Carlos Delgado hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the eighth inning.
