Oregon State stays perfect at home with 64-50 win over Washington
Gary Payton II had 17 points and five steals and Oregon State defeated Washington, 64-50, on Sunday, improving the Beavers to a school-record 14-0 at home to start the season.
Malcolm Duvivier added 14 points for the Beavers, who improved to 7-4 in Pac-12 Conference play.
Andrew Andrews had 14 points for the Huskies (14-9, 3-8), who have lost five straight games. The loss also ended a four-game winning streak in the series against the Beavers.
Washington didn’t score for nearly the first six minutes of the game, getting its first point on the second of two free throws from Shawn Kemp Jr.
at Oregon 95, Washington State 72: Joseph Young had 29 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and the Ducks (17-7, 7-4) won for the fifth time in six games. Dwayne Benjamin added 25 points for Oregon, which had a 52-28 halftime lead.
Dexter Kernick-Drew led the Cougars (10-13, 4-7) with 18 points.
