Sosa suffers from too much exposure in photos
The biggest news from last week’s Latin Grammy Awards wasn’t the fact that urban duo Calle 13 won five awards. The biggest news were those photos of a celebrity fan, prompting gasps of “What happened to Sammy Sosa?” as they made their way around the Internet.
In these photos, Sosa’s skin appears several shades lighter than usual, leading to all sorts of Internet speculation.
“He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson,” former Chicago Cubs employee Rebecca Polihronis, who talks frequently with Sosa, told the Chicago Tribune.
“He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of [the photo appearance] is just the lighting.” Polihronis said Sosa told her the photos are deceiving.
“He was doing a dermatological skin process after years and years [of playing baseball] in the sun,” Polihronis said. “It did come out looking weird” in the photos.

The extinction of ticker tape in the 1960s has given new meaning to the phrase ticker-tape parade. Yankees fans in New York had to get creative to find their confetti for last week’s World Series parade -- too creative in some places.
Some employees with offices overlooking the parade route dumped company files, including confidential financial records, out the window.
“We’re finding pay stubs. We’re finding personal financial information. We found a balance sheet of someone’s trust fund showing $300,000 in stock,” one parade attendee, Damian Salo, told the New York Post.
Some of the documents came from the Liberty Street financial firm A.L. Sarroff, including their client accounts, with Social Security numbers and detailed banking data.
“They’re records that should have been shredded,” said firm founder Alan Sarroff. “An overzealous employee threw them out the window. He was reprimanded.”
