Clippers win seventh in a row, beating Pelicans, 120-100

The Clippers extended their winning streak to seven games after beating the New Orleans Pelicans, 120-100, on Saturday evening at Staples Center.

The Clippers led by as many as 18 points in the first half, but the Pelicans clawed their way back to enter halftime tied, 54-54. The Clippers retook control of the game in the second half, leading by as many as 25 points.

The Clippers have now won eight of their last nine games, while the Pelicans have lost five of their last six.

Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting, seven rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes. Chris Paul had 18 points and 16 assists. J.J. Redick had 21 points, including five three-pointers, and Jamal Crawford added 20 points.

The Clippers shot 53.1% (17 of 32) from three-point range. They also outshot the Pelicans from the field, 55.1% to 47.5%.

Despite DeAndre Jordan finishing with 18 rebounds, the Clippers were outrebounded, 45-38.

The Clippers next play against the Phoenix Suns on Monday at 7:30 p.m. before leaving Tuesday for a three-game road trip. On their last trip, they won six of seven games, setting a franchise record for most wins over that number of away games.
