Add Teemu Selanne to the growing list of injured Ducks.

Selanne, 43, took a stick in the mouth from Philadelphia defenseman Luke Schenn in the third period of the Ducks’ 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. He went down in a heap in the corner and it also looked like his head glanced off the ice as he fell.

The Ducks later announced that Selanne would not return to the game. An Anaheim official said that he suffered a large mouth cut, at minimum.

He has suffered his share of freak facial injuries in his long and storied career. In 2010, it was a fractured jaw for Selanne after a shot by a teammate deflected off the stick of a Boston Bruins player, hit the ice and bounced up and hit Selanne.

More details on Tuesday’s injury are expected later from the Ducks.
