Terrell Owens faces mothers of his children on ‘Dr. Phil’

Terrell Owens has never been one to shy away from any kind of attention. Now that he’s not getting it on the football field anymore, it’s really no surprise he agreed to face three of the four women he’s had children with on Tuesday’s episode of the “Dr. Phil” show.

But even T.O., the attention hound that he is, may have gotten more than he bargained for. None of the three women thinks too highly of Owens -- one of them even called him “evil” -- and they were all happy to share a laundry list of grievances with the father of their children.

That would include not keeping up child support payments -- Owens said the amount he owes each month adds up to almost $50,000 and he’s trying to get that reduced -- and generally not being a good parent.

One woman accused Owens of trying to “exploit” their son by making public appearances with him. Another said he has seen their 7-year-old daughter only 12 times in her life and that he does not send Christmas gifts. The third woman said he hasn’t seen his daughter in more than a year.

Even host Dr. Phil McGraw got in on the act, although his lecturing wasn’t aimed just at Owens. “You guys need to stop these hostilities, because it’s your child who’s picking up the tab for that,” he said.

Owens mainly just sat there and took it all during the hourlong show, sometimes offering an excuse or an explanation. He spoke of his childhood, saying he didn’t know his own father “until I was 10 or 12.”

The show ended on a happy note, though, with Owens reuniting with two of his children backstage, kissing and hugging them, telling them he loves them and offering to take them to Magic Mountain.
