Quinn’s 20 Points Fuel UCLA Rout

Noelle Quinn had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 23 UCLA past Oregon State, 73-45, on Sunday in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Pauley Pavilion.

Lisa Willis made two three-point baskets to set a career school record of 138 for UCLA (8-3, 2-0). She finished with eight points.

UCLA jumped to a 14-6 lead and Oregon State (4-8, 0-3) never got closer in the second half.

Nikki Blue’s three-pointer gave UCLA a 47-30 lead with 12:20 to play. Blue finished with 11 points and eight assists.

Woeful outside shooting hurt the Beavers, who missed their first 17 three-point attempts and finished one for 23 from beyond the arc. Oregon State had eight assists and no players scored in double figures. Shannon Howell, the Beavers’ top scorer with an 18.9-point average, was held to four points on two-for-13 shooting.

The victory was UCLA’s ninth in a row at home dating to last season, and second in a row after consecutive losses to Illinois and No. 9 Ohio State.

USC 77, Oregon 72 -- Jamie Hagiya scored 14 points and Camille LeNoir had 10 to lead the Trojans (7-4, 1-1) over the Ducks (9-3, 2-1) at the Sports Arena.

USC forced 20 Oregon turnovers and scored 24 points as a result. The Trojans shot 50% from the field, including seven of 14 from three-point range.

Oregon was led by Chelsea Wagner’s 21 points and 19 from Andrea Bills. Cathrine Kraayeveld had 13 points and 18 rebounds.
