UCLA football: Californians for Nebraska to help Nick Pasquale Foundation

Nebraska fans continue to step up in support of UCLA’s football team, which lost receiver Nick Pasquale this week.

The Californians for Nebraska, a Cornhusker support group, voted Wednesday morning to donate proceeds from its opportunity drawings to the Nick Pasquale Foundation. The group holds watch parties at various locations in Southern California when Nebraska plays.

UCLA plays at Nebraska on Saturday.

Pasquale, 20, died early Sunday monring when he was struck by a car. Services are being held Sunday in San Clemente. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Nick Pasquale Foundation.

Californians for Nebraska will hold offical watch parties at the OC Tavern in San Clemente, Pasquale’s hometown, and Danny K’s in Orange. Money from the opportunity drawings usually go the Californians for Nebraska scholarship fund.

“We feel that it is important to do what we can at a very difficult time for Nick’s family, community and school no matter which team you are cheering for,” said Mike Zeis, the group’s membership chairman.
