There was plenty for USC's Rodney Peete (center), Aaron Emanuel (24) and Erik Affholter (42) to celebrate in 1988. Peete recovered from a case of the measles to lead the Trojans to a 31-22 victory, earning USC a second consecutive trip to the Rose Bowl at the expense of UCLA.
