Kent Bazemore cried a little bit. Nick Young planted his face in a towel for a long time.

Sunday was rough on them, the latest two injured Lakers.

In another sign of a bad season, the Lakers have more hurt players (eight) than healthy ones (seven).

Bazemore crumpled to the court and rolled around after sustaining a sprained right foot in the second quarter against the Clippers.

The weird part was how it happened: Bazemore was merely dribbling near the three-point line, trying to keep the ball away from Darren Collison, when he felt a pop.

He was helped off the court and scheduled for an MRI exam Monday. X-rays taken at Staples Center were negative.

“I’m not in a position where I can afford to miss games,” said Bazemore, who had a fracture in his other foot while playing in college. “I was like, ‘Oh, no, not again,’ so I just fell. And cried a bit.”

The Lakers like what they’ve seen of Bazemore, 24, and hope to bring him back at a fair price. He’ll be a restricted free agent in July after making $762,195 this season.

He is averaging 13.1 points in 23 games since being acquired from Golden State in February for Steve Blake.

Bazemore was playing out of position when he was injured, filling in as Kendall Marshall‘s backup because the Lakers were down to one healthy point guard. Bazemore started Sunday’s game at small forward and played point guard in a handful of other games.

Bazemore joined injured Lakers Kobe Bryant (fractured knee), Pau Gasol (vertigo), Steve Nash (back), Xavier Henry (wrist, knee), Jordan Farmar (groin) and Chris Kaman (calf).

Young entered the game with a sprained ankle and left after sustaining a sprained knee in the third quarter. He returned in the fourth but didn’t last long before leaving again.

“I’m just trying to go down with the ship,” said Young, who finished with 18 points on five-for-15 shooting in the Clippers’ 120-97 victory.

He stayed down on the court for about a minute after being injured, eventually walking slowly to the bench. He planted his face in a towel for quite a while next to Lakers trainer Gary Vitti.

Was it physical pain? Sadness?

“A little bit of everything that’s going on,” Young said. “Pain, everybody getting hurt, just how the season’s been a little frustrating.”

Brooks not playing

MarShon Brooks, the other player acquired in the Blake trade, hasn’t received much playing time despite all the Lakers’ injuries.

He didn’t enter Sunday’s game until the final two minutes. The Clippers led, 115-92.

Brooks, 25, is averaging seven points in 15 games since the trade. He didn’t appear in eight of the last 14 games before Sunday. He is with his fourth franchise in a three-year NBA career.
