Five takeaways from Lakers’ 127-104 loss to Golden State

The blowouts picked up again, the Lakers falling to Golden State, 127-104, on Saturday night after a comparatively close loss to the Clippers the previous night. Here are five takeaways from Saturday’s game.

1) Kobe Bryant keeps showing enough to disprove the doubters. At least individually. But he knows the team’s record is of great importance. An 0-4 mark leaves plenty of room for derision.

2) Since when did Jordan Hill become the second-best player on the Lakers? Since this weekend. He had the exact same stats against the Clippers and Golden State — 23 points and five rebounds. He is now the Lakers’ silver medalist.

3) Carlos Boozer has failed to hit double digits in three of four games. His nine-point effort on four-for nine shooting might be more of the norm this season.

4) More Ed Davis, please. He had 14 points and six rebounds in 21 minutes. Coach Byron Scott said it was too early to make changes in the starting lineup but Davis is making a case for more playing time.

5) Jeremy Lin? Still struggling: He took six shots and missed them all. He had six assists but basically canceled them out with five turnovers. He must improve if the Lakers want to end this skid.
