Kobe Bryant will sit out Tuesday night, when the Lakers (8-19) host the Golden State Warriors (22-3).

“He’s not going to play tonight,” said Coach Byron Scott before the game. “He was OK with me making the decision.”

The Lakers’ All-Star guard has struggled in recent game with tired legs, the price of playing into a 19th season at the age of 36.

“I didn’t get much of a fuss with it. He had told me last night, anyway, ‘Coach, whatever you want to do, just let me know.’ So he’s on board with it,” continued Scott. “We’ll see where we are after this.”

Bryant hasn’t missed a game this season, playing in all 27 contests, averaging 24.6 points a game but shooting a career-low 37.2% from the field. Last year, he played in just six games with Achilles’ tendon and knee injuries.

Wayne Ellington will start in Bryant’s place against the Warriors.

Scott wouldn’t commit to Bryant’s playing on Christmas, when the Lakers visit the Chicago Bulls, or the following night in Dallas against the Mavericks.

“We’re just taking this game by game, day by day,” said Scott.
