The Lakers opened the 2015-16 regular season with a thud, losing three straight including two at Staples Center.

Kobe Bryant made history becoming the first player to play 20 straight seasons with the same NBA franchise, something to be appreciated in and of itself.

The Lakers, however, may be looking at a long season ahead, as expectations should probably be tempered given the team’s inexperienced youth mixed with the aging Bryant -- although it may prove to be a wild ride.

Rookie D’Angelo Russell got the start on opening night at shooting guard against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but the Lakers fell 112-111 after blowing a big lead.

Top overall pick, Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns was very solid in his NBA debut.

Lakers forward Julius Randle, who missed almost his entire rookie season, was also impressive.

After one game, Coach Byron Scott decided to move Russell to point guard, noting the rookie shouldn’t be compared to others in his draft class.

Scott will also continue to experiment with a Brandon Bass/Ryan Kelly frontcourt.

While Bryant was battling a sore throat, he was able to play in Friday’s 132-114 in Sacramento against the Kings in a poor defensive showing.

Scott said he’ll listen to his players’ ”feedback” to reduce practice time to increase the team’s energy.

The Lakers didn’t exactly turn it around on Sunday, falling to the Dallas Mavericks, 103-93.

Randle had a strong showing, but it wasn’t enough, especially with Bryant struggling to find his shot.

Meanwhile, former Lakers Robert Upshaw and Michael Frazier were named to the D-Fenders’ training camp roster.

Finally, Bryant opened up about long-time friend Lamar Odom, who is recovering from multiple strokes, and is being tended to by his wife, Khloe Kardashian.
