Kobe Bryant is in the final year of his contract, but he certainly sounds like a player looking to re-sign and finish his career with the Lakers.
"I was born a Laker, so I look forward to dying one," Bryant tells Kevin Frazier on Wednesday night's "Connected With .. Kobe Bryant."
In the show scheduled to air on Time Warner Cable SportsNet at 11:00 p.m., upon conclusion of the Lakers at Golden State Warriors broadcast, Bryant talks about his recovery from Achilles' tendon surgery.
"I'm progressing," Bryant says. "I'm getting stronger."
Bryant underwent surgery April 13, within 12 hours of tearing his Achilles' tendon in a win over the Warriors at Staples Center. At the time, the Lakers predicted a six- to nine-month recovery.
"The city of Los Angeles and Laker fans and everybody's kind of waiting to see how I'm going to return," Bryant says. "I think there's nervousness and anxiousness to see how I'm going to play when I come back."
