On the eve of training camp, the Lakers have added former UCLA and NBA veteran center Dan Gadzuric.

Announced Friday by General Manager Mitch Kupchak, Gadzuric increases the roster to 19 players.

The Lakers cannot carry more than 15 into the regular season, which starts Oct. 29 with a home against the Clippers. The roster minimum is 13, but the Lakers are expected to have under contract at least 14, and probably the maximum of 15, on opening night.

The details of Gadzuric’s contract were not released, but he’ll make a minimum salary of $1.4 million if he sticks for the entire year. More likely than not, Gadzuric has a non-guaranteed deal.

The 6-foot-11 center recently played for Marinos de Anzoátegui in Venezuela. He previously played in the NBA for the Milwaukee Bucks (drafted 34th overall in 2002), Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets (now in Brooklyn).

The Lakers have 11 guaranteed players including Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Jordan Hill, Chris Kaman, Jodie Meeks, Jordan Farmar, Nick Young, Wesley Johnson and Robert Sacre.

Shawne Williams and Elias Harris have $100,000 of their minimum contracts guaranteed.

The remaining players (Xavier Henry, Marcus Landry, Ryan Kelly, Eric Boateng, Darius Johnson-Odom and Gadzuric) are believed to have no guarantees.

Training camp starts with media day on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
