Can the Lakers win a title this season?
Former Lakers center Vlade Divac apparently seems to think so.
"The Los Angeles Lakers are an elite team and I'm sure they're going to do better than last year. It's not going to happen two years in a row to have a bad season," Divac told Express Sports. "The Lakers are going to be definitely one of those teams that can win the championship next year."
No, Divac isn't referring to the 2014-15 season but the one about to start Oct. 29.
Does he think Bryant will return to full strength this year?"Yeah I do. I do," said Divac.
Divac was the key piece the Lakers sent to the Charlotte Hornets (now New Orleans Pelicans) to acquire Bryant in 1996.
After years of battling against each other while Divac was a member of the Sacramento Kings, the center returned to the Lakers for the 2004-05 season.
If Divac were return to the league, never mind that he's 45-years old, he'd choose to play once again with Bryant.
"He's a guy who really makes everybody better on the floor, and I love those kind of players," Divac said.
The Lakers' chances at a title seem long, but if Bryant does return to full strength, perhaps Divac's prediction isn't completely outlandish — just mostly.
