17. Jerry West vs. Boston Celtics, Game 3 NBA Finals, April 10, 1962.

The setting: The Lakers and Celtics were tied with three seconds left when West stole an inbounds pass at midcourt, raced toward the basket and scored on a layup at the buzzer for a 117-115 victory at the Sports Arena. The significance: West was carried off the court by teammates after his shot gave the Lakers a 2-1 series lead. The crowd of 15,180 was the largest basketball crowd in the history of the Sports Arena. West finished with 36 points, while teammate Elgin Baylor had 39. Associated Press
