The significance: The shot, which gave the Lakers their first lead since 2-0, allowed the Lakers to tie the series at 2-2. It prevented the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000115" title="Sacramento Kings" href="/topic/sports/basketball/sacramento-kings-ORSPT000115.topic">Kings</a>, who had a 24-point lead in the second quarter, from winning a third straight game and going home with a chance to end the series. The Lakers won the series in seven games, taking Game 7 in overtime in Sacramento, and swept the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000194" title="Brooklyn Nets" href="/topic/sports/basketball/brooklyn-nets-ORSPT000194.topic">New Jersey Nets</a> for their third consecutive <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="15008001" title="National Basketball Association" href="/topic/sports/basketball/national-basketball-association-15008001.topic">NBA</a> title.<br>

The significance: The shot, which gave the Lakers their first lead since 2-0, allowed the Lakers to tie the series at 2-2. It prevented the Kings, who had a 24-point lead in the second quarter, from winning a third straight game and going home with a chance to end the series. The Lakers won the series in seven games, taking Game 7 in overtime in Sacramento, and swept the New Jersey Nets for their third consecutive NBA title.
