Baseball asks for sale of Dodgers

In a move asserting Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig's authority over individual teams, MLB lawyers ask a federal bankruptcy judge to order the sale of the Dodgers, arguing in court papers submitted Sept. 22 that Frank McCourt's plan to retain ownership is "dead on arrival."
