Texas Rangers slugger Prince Fielder will have season-ending surgery Friday for a herniated disk in his neck.

The surgery will be done in Dallas by Dr. Drew Dossett, who two years ago did a fusion of two disks just below the area that is bothering Fielder.

Fielder is batting a career-low .212 with eight home runs and 44 runs batted in.
