Bronson Koenig scored 16 points, 10 during a key run that turned the game around, and No. 17 Wisconsin survived a scare to defeat Michigan, 68-64, on Tuesday night at Madison, Wis.

The Wolverines (12-7, 2-4 Big Ten) seemed to have the Badgers (15-3, 4-1) on the ropes at one point in the second half. Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ went to the bench with his third foul early in the half and could largely only watch as Michigan went on a 17-2 surge to take a 38-30 lead.

After Wisconsin rallied to tie the score at 43, the Wolverines hit three-pointers on consecutive possessions to pull ahead again.

Then Koenig took over.

Nigel Hayes and Vitto Brown each scored 13 points for the Badgers. Zak Irvin scored 20 points to lead Michigan.

No. 5 Kentucky 88, at Mississippi State 81: De’-Aaron Fox scored 21 points, Malik Monk had 14 and the Wildcats ( (16-2, 6-0 Southeastern Conference) held off the Bulldogs (12-5, 3-2), who made things interesting with a 13-0 run down the stretch that turned what looked like a Kentucky runaway into a tight game. Fox, a 6-foot-3 freshman, had two impressive drives for baskets in the final minutes to thwart a final Mississippi State rally. Freshman Lamar Peters scored a career-high 25 points for the Bulldogs.

at No. 6 Baylor 74, Texas 64: Johnathan Motley set career highs with 32 points and 20 rebounds for the Bears (17-1, 5-1 Big 12), who went ahead to stay with a big run before halftime on the way to an eased-up win over the Longhorns (7-11, 1-5). Nuni Omot, a junior college transfer playing in only his eighth game for Baylor, had a season-high 14 points.

at No. 21 Purdue 91, Illinois 68: Center Isaac Haas had 24 points and six rebounds, power forward Caleb Swanigan added 22 points and 10 rebounds and Boilermakers (15-4, 4-2 Big Ten) overpowered the Illini (12-7, 2-4).
