Three thoughts for the coming week:

  • There was a time when Louisville-Houston looked like a huge matchup. Not anymore, but the College Football Playoff No. 6 Cardinals will probably need a convincing win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
  • No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 16 West Virginia meet in Morgantown, WVa., to decide which Big 12 team still has an outside shot at the national title.
  • This hasn’t been a great season for the Pac-12 power establishment, but this Saturday brings together two pleasant surprises, No. 12 Colorado and No. 23 Washington State.
