Luol Deng’s 30 points help Heat beat Mavericks, 105-96

Luol Deng scored a season-high 30 points, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade each had 20 and the Miami Heat stayed perfect against Dallas since the 2011 NBA Finals with a 105-96 victory over the Mavericks on Sunday night at Dallas.

The Heat has won seven consecutive regular-season games against the Mavericks since Dallas took three games in a row in the Finals to win its first championship.

Miami was without LeBron James in this rematch and the Mavericks faced the Heat for the first time since the return of two important pieces from their title team, Tyson Chandler and J.J. Barea.

But Deng was the key off-season acquisition that mattered most, finishing 13 of 19 from the field with five rebounds and four assists. The Heat out-shot the Maverics from the field, 55% to 42%.

Monta Ellis led the Mavericks with 23 points.

at Phoenix 107, Golden State 95: Isaiah Thomas scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and the Suns rallied to hand the Warriors their first loss in six games this season. Thomas finished with 22 points and teammate Gerald Green scored 19, including 16 in the fourth quarter. Stephen Curry scored 28 points for the Warriors.

Utah 97, at Detroit 96: Gordon Hayward scored 17 points, including four in the final two minutes, Derrick Favors had 16 points and 12 rebounds and the Jazz overcame a double-digit, second-half deficit.

at Brooklyn 104, Orlando 96: Bojan Bogdanovic scored a season-high 22 points to lift the Nets. Nikola Vucevic scored 17 of the Magic’s 25 points in the third quarter and finished with 27 points.

at Toronto 120, Philadelphia 88: DeMar DeRozan scored 24 points and the Raptors won for the sixth time in seven games. Toronto is alone atop the Eastern Conference for the first time in its 20-year history.

at Oklahoma City 101, Sacramento 93: Reggie Jackson scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to help the Thunder improve to 2-1 at home despite playing without injured stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Jackson finished with 22 points. Rudy Gay had 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Kings.

at Portland 116, Denver 100: LaMarcus Aldridge scored 28 points and the Trail Blazers handed the Nuggets their fifth loss in a row and in the process won for the third time in their last four games. Wesley Matthews scored 21 points for Portland. Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with 19 points.
