Draymond Green hit an off-balance three-pointer as the shot clock expired with 40.2 seconds remaining in overtime, and the Golden State Warriors escaped with a 109-105 win against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night in Oakland, while Stephen Curry watched in street clothes with an injured ankle.

Andrew Bogut saved the ball from going out of bounds, and then Green got the shot off just in time with his legs splayed in the air while avoiding Kent Bazemore’s diving steal attempt.

Klay Thompson made a go-ahead three-pointer with 2:54 remaining and another big basket at the 11.4-second mark. He finished with 26 points, including a short pullup jumper from the left baseline that Golden State ahead, 109-105, with about 11 seconds left.

Golden State, which also played without sixth man Andre Iguodala because of a hamstring injury, won its second straight overtime game and earned a franchise-best 43rd straight regular-season home victory and 25th in a row this season.

The Warriors (54-5) can tie Chicago’s 44-game unbeaten streak at home from March 30, 1995, to April 4, 1996, when they play host to Oklahoma City on Thursday. They are also chasing the ‘95-96 Bulls’ record 72-win season.

Portland 104, at New York 85: Damian Lillard scored 30 points, C.J. McCollum had 21 of his 25 in the second half and the Trail Blazers earned their sixth straight road victory, and their 18th win in their last 22 games overall. Lillard reached the 30-point mark for the eighth time in nine games and had nearly half of them, 14, in the final 4:25 of the first half. Carmelo Anthony had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who looked so hopeless in their 15th loss in 18 games that fans spent much of the fourth quarter chanting for Jimmer Fredette, who is nearing the end of his 10-day contract. He got in for the final 3 minutes 13 seconds and finished with four points.

at Miami 129, Chicago 111: Hassan Whiteside scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and the Heat set a franchise record by shooting 67.5%. Derrick Rose returned from a three-game absence because of injury and scored 17 points for Chicago, which lost for the 17th time in 25 games and fell ninth place in the Eastern Conference, out of a playoff spot.

at Charlotte 126, Phoenix 92: Kemba Walker scored 26 points, leading the Hornets to their ninth win in 12 games.

at Dallas 121, Orlando 108: Wesley Matthews scored 21 points, and the Mavericks shot a season-high 56% in rolling to their straight win.
