Stephen Curry missed a tying three-point attempt with 5.3 seconds left and the Golden State Warriors suffered their first home defeat in more than 14 months, losing, 109-106, to the Boston Celtics on Friday night to snap an NBA-record 54-game winning streak in the regular season at Oracle Arena.

That included 36 straight home wins to start this season. Golden State hadn’t lost at home since a 113-111 overtime defeat to the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 27, 2015.

Isaiah Thomas made a driving layup with 8.3 seconds left on the way to 22 points for Boston.

Shaun Livingston hit two free throws with 46.9 seconds left to get Golden State within 105-103, then Draymond Green wrestled the ball away from Amir Johnson and Golden State called timeout. But Green lost the ball with 23.9 seconds left.

Evan Turner made a pair of free throws with 18.1 seconds to go before Harrison Barnes’ baseline three made it a one-point game, setting the stage for Thomas’ basket and Curry’s miss.

Cleveland 110, at Atlanta 108 (OT): LeBron James had 29 points to pass another Hall of Famer on the NBA’s career scoring list and the Cavaliers recovered after blowing a big first-half lead to win in overtime. James moved passed Oscar Robertson for 11th on the all-time list. James has 26,718 points to Robertson’s 26,710. Cleveland stayed 2 1/2 games ahead of second-place Toronto in the Eastern Conference.

at Charlotte 100, Philadelphia 91: Kemba Walker had 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets (44-31), who can clinch a playoff berth if Detroit beats Chicago on Saturday.

Toronto 99, at Memphis 95: DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points, and the Raptors handed the Grizzlies a fifth straight loss.

Dallas 98, at Detroit 89: J.J. Barea scored 29 points to help the Mavericks remain tied with Utah for seventh in the West. The Pistons lead No. 8 Indiana by a half-game and ninth-place Chicago by 1 1/2 in the East.

at Utah 98, Minnesota 85: Gordon Hayward scored 22 points and the Jazz won to hold on to their place in the Western Conference playoff race.

Miami 112, at Sacramento 106: Luol Deng made a three-pointer with 45.7 seconds left, helping the Heat avoid a second straight epic collapse. Miami, which blew a big lead Wednesday in a loss to the Lakers, squandered most of a 24 point lead Friday.

at New York 105, Brooklyn 91: Langston Galloway scored 14 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, and the Knicks earned a split of the four-game season series with their city rivals.

Washington 106, at Phoenix 99: Markieff Morris overcame a rude welcome in his Phoenix return to score 21 points, and John Wall had 22 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds for the Wizards.

at Milwaukee 113, Orlando 110: Jabari Parker made a driving basket with 10.1 seconds left to put the Bucks ahead and Tyler Ennis’ two free throws sealed it.
