NBA roundup: Mills’ three-point basket lifts Spurs

Patty Mills made a three-point basket with 12.9 seconds left to lift the San Antonio Spurs over the host Houston Rockets, 102-100, on Tuesday night.

Eric Gordon missed a three-point shot after that before Manu Ginobili missed two free throws to give Houston one last chance, but James Harden’s three-point shot bounced off the rim at the buzzer.

The Spurs won their fifth game in a row and improved to 15-1 on the road. Houston’s winning streak ended at 10 games.

Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 21 points.

Harden finished with 31 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Boston 112, at Memphis 109 (OT): Isaiah Thomas scored a career-high 44 points, including 36 in the second half, and the Celtics overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half.

Cleveland 114, at Milwaukee 108 (OT): LeBron James made a go-ahead three-point basket with 24 seconds left in overtime and the Cavaliers avenged a late November loss. James finished with 34 points.

at New York 118, Indiana 111: Carmelo Anthony matched a season high with 35 points and the Knicks rallied after falling behind by 15 points in the third quarter.

Orlando 136, at Miami 130 (2OT): Nik Vucevic had 26 points and 12 rebounds and the Magic beat the Heat for only the third time in their last 19 meetings. Tyler Johnson had a career-high 32 points, the most ever by a Heat reserve.

at Toronto 116, Brooklyn 104: Kyle Lowry had 23 points and Norman Powell scored a season-high 21 points for the Raptors, who led by as many as 23 points.

New Orleans 108, at Philadelphia 93: Anthony Davis had 31 points and 16 rebounds to help the Pelicans win for only the third time in their last 11 games.

at Golden State 104, Utah 74: Draymond Green had 15 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, and the Warriors pulled away by shooting 61.9% in a 36-point second quarter.

at Sacramento 126, Portland 121: DeMarcus Cousins scored 55 points, one shy of his career high, to help the Kings rally from a 12-point deficit after the first half. He finished with 13 rebounds.
