Chargers select USC’s Max Tuerk with the 66th pick in NFL draft
The San Diego Chargers have selected USC center Max Tuerk with the third pick in the third round of the NFL draft.
That should come as welcome news to Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who has been under siege in recent years.
The 6-foot-5, 298-pound Tuerk suffered a season-ending knee injury in October, and that likely caused him to drop a bit in the draft. But he’s a huge, solid blocker who can anchor that San Diego line.
Tuerk, the 66th overall pick, was the second Trojans’ second player off the board. Safety/linebacker Su’a Cravens went to Washington in the second round.
