Hello, everyone!

What a great start to the tournament so far. Going back a couple of days to our first game ... I had a few butterflies against Slovakia. We had a big second period with five goals, and I was able to settle in after that. We ended up winning, 7-1, a good start.

The NHLPA has put together a lounge for all players and family to gather after games. So after our game I was able to go there and share my experience and everything with my family. Everyone was excited about our win. Seeing my teammates with their family and friends really makes the experience great. The support for US has been fantastic so far.

On Saturday afternoon it was time for our much-anticipated game against the Russians. What an unbelievable atmosphere it was. The crowd was amazing and there were Russian flags everywhere with a good U.S. crowd sprinkled in.

The game was unbelievable to play in. Momentum swings back and forth. They scored first and we were behind. Then, fortunately I was in the right place at the right time and got a good bounce to score my first Olympic goal! Something I will never forget. The game ended up going into a shootout where T.J. Oshie and Jonathan Quick stole the show. Oshie scored 4 out of 6 in the shootout and Quicky made some unbelievable saves and we came out with the win, 3-2. What an experience!

Today we have another tough game against a good Slovenia team. Have to be ready for that, so time for some rest. Thanks again for the support and I’ll catch up with you again soon.

GO USA!
