Prep golf: Cheboygan wins Palmer Memorial Invitational

Derek Sturvist shot 81 to place third overall and lead the Chiefs, who finished with a 331 team score. Also for Cheboygan, Brennon Wachter shot 82 to place fourth, Andrew Purcell carded an 83 to place fifth, and Kasey Lofgren shot 85 to tie for eighth.
St. Ignace, 339, was second, followed by Tawas, 341; Alanson-Pellston, 363; Inland Lakes, 365; Lincoln-Alcona, 370; Sault Ste. Marie, 380; Harbor Light Christian, 396; Boyne City, 400; Newberry, 444; East Jordan, 446. Rogers City also competed, but did not field enough players to record a team score.
Eric Hepker of St. Ignace shot 74 to claim medalist honors, while Connor Kintz of Alanson-Pellston shot 78 to finish second.
Silas Lee of Harbor Light Christian shot 84 to finish tied for sixth.
