The Petoskey Northmen hockey team picked up a second straight win and fourth in their last five starts Friday as they defeated Cadillac, 3-2, in a Big North Conference contest at Griffin Arena.
With the win, the Northmen improve to 9-7-0 overall, 2-3 league.
Senior defenseman Ken Forton's shorthanded goal in the second period stood to be the game-winner for the Northmen, who took a 3-1 lead after two periods of play.
Also for Petoskey, Derek Smith and Ben Schwartzfisher scored first period goals, while Tanner Davis and Kevin Hansen had assists.
Breanna Merriam earned the win in goal for Petoskey as she finished with 17 saves. PJ Nemish turned aside 23 shots in goal for Cadillac.
Tyler Thomas scored both goals for Cadillac.
Petoskey goes to the Bay Area Reps for a non-league game at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.
