Cubs rout Padres, 12-3

* at Chicago 12, San Diego 3: Carlos Zambrano (6-1) won his fifth straight decision and Alfonso Soriano homered in a six-run fifth as the Cubs won their fourth in a row. Pitching with an extra day of rest after his start Sunday was scratched because of rainy conditions, Zambrano gave up three runs in seven innings.

* Washington 10, at New York 4: Making his ninth start without a victory, Odalis Perez had three hits and two RBIs and improved to 1-3. On an unusually chilly night with winds gusting to more than 20 mph, Jesus Flores and Lastings Milledge each had two-run doubles and Washington ended a three-game slide.

* at Cincinnati 8, Florida 7: Jeff Keppinger and Brandon Phillips hit two-run homers in the seventh inning to send Aaron Harang to a long-awaited victory. The Marlins arrived with a seven-game winning streak and Harang hadn't won since April 10, going 0-4 despite one solid performance after another. The Reds scored two runs or fewer in half of his first eight starts.

* at Pittsburgh 5-1, Atlanta 0-8: Tim Hudson limited the Pirates to two hits and an unearned run over seven innings and the Braves halted their seven-game road losing streak and the Pirates' six-game winning streak with a victory in the second game of a doubleheader. In the opener, Freddy Sanchez hit a three-run double and Zach Duke pitched six shutout innings for the Pirates.

* Houston 7, at San Francisco 3: Hunter Pence hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the seventh, Lance Berkman had a tying two-run homer off Barry Zito and the Astros won their fourth in a row.

* at Milwaukee 8, St. Louis 3: Ryan Braun hit two homers and Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina and Manager Tony La Russa were ejected for arguing a call at home plate.
