Northwestern is a solid 11-1 against the spread its last 12 games overall. Big Ten bowl teams are 10-4 against the spread when facing an SEC opponent coming off a straight-up and point spread loss. Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen is a woeful 1-18 straight-up and 5-14 against the spread when facing an opponent with a .750 or better winning percentage. Take Northwestern -1 for another Best Bet winner. Other plays include Oklahoma State -17 vs. Purdue, Nebraska +9 vs. Georgia, and Northern Illinois +14 vs. Florida State.
