Chivas USA’s winless streak continues

Obafemi Martins and Andy Rose each scored two first-half goals to lead the Seattle Sounders to a 4-2 victory over Chivas USA on Wednesday night at StubHub Center.

Seattle won its third consecutive game to remain atop the Western Conference. Chivas USA’s winless streak reached eight games.

Martins scored off Brad Evans’ corner kick in the 11th minute and hit paydirt again five minutes later. Seattle made it 3-0 when Rose redirected in Evans’ free kick in the 38th minute. The duo combined on another free kick four minutes later for Evans’ third assist of the first half.

Marco Delgado ended Chivas USA’s scoreless streak at six games. He headed home a goal in the 51st minute. Ryan Finley scored on a penalty kick in the 60th minute.
