Update: Unbeaten in its last four games and coming off its first win of the season, Chivas USA will play its first home game since April 9 with spirits lifted by the string of three ties and a win. Even Coach Robin Fraser was able to see the silver lining after a 0-2-3 start as a head coach. “The win was going to come,” he said after last weekend’s 2-1 road victory over the San Jose Earthquakes. “I never thought that I was going to go my whole career without a win.” Injuries, however, continue to dog Chivas USA, which will be missing defenders Jimmy Conrad (concussion) and Michael Lahoud (concussion) and midfielders Paulo Nagamura (calf) and Blair Gavin (hamstring). Under particular scrutiny Saturday will be the play of U.S. national team midfielder Benny Feilhaber, who was picked up by the Revolution after Chivas declined to sign him and instead retained its top-pick status in the MLS player allocation rankings. Feilhaber assisted on a goal in his New England debut last weekend as the Revolution defeated Sporting Kansas City, 3-2. “You see the quality he has,” said New England Coach Steve Nicol. “He made a big impact.”
